Terms of Service

These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of the ScreenFace app for iPhone (“ScreenFace”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) and the website screenface.app. By downloading or using ScreenFace, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. The app

ScreenFace lets you record your iPhone screen together with your front camera, microphone and app audio, then watch, edit, save and share those recordings. Recording, editing and storage happen on your device. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and forms part of these Terms.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use ScreenFace on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple’s App Store Terms of Service. ScreenFace is licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, supplemented by these Terms. If they conflict, these Terms apply to the extent allowed by that agreement.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute or resell the app, except where the law expressly allows it.

3. Your recordings

You own the recordings you make. We claim no rights to them, and because they stay on your device, we never receive them unless you choose to send them to us.

You are solely responsible for what you record, keep and share, including making sure you have the rights and permissions to do so.

4. Acceptable use

When using ScreenFace, you agree not to:

• Record people, conversations or calls without the consent required by the laws where you and they are located.
• Record or share content you don’t have the right to, such as copyrighted films, music, games or other people’s private messages, in a way that infringes their rights.
• Use recordings to harass, threaten, defame, impersonate or exploit anyone, or to create or share illegal content.
• Try to bypass content protection. Some apps and media block screen capture, and these will appear blank in your recordings.
• Use the app in any way that breaks applicable law or the terms of the apps and services you record.

5. Storage and backups

Recordings are stored in the app on your iPhone. Deleting the app, resetting your device, running out of storage, or a device or software failure can permanently remove them. We cannot recover recordings for you. Save important videos to Photos or another location you trust.

6. Availability and changes

Features depend on your iPhone model and iOS version, and on system services provided by Apple, such as screen recording, camera Picture in Picture and Photos. Other apps or iOS itself may interrupt the camera or a recording. We may update, change or discontinue features at any time, and are not obliged to provide updates or support.

7. Third parties

When you share a recording through the iOS share sheet or save it to Photos, the app or service you choose handles it under its own terms. Apple is not responsible for ScreenFace or for providing support for it, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you.

8. Disclaimer

ScreenFace is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every recording will be captured or saved successfully.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, recordings, content, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use ScreenFace. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, if any.

Some places don’t allow these exclusions or limits, so they apply to you only as far as your local law permits. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

10. Indemnity

You agree to be responsible for, and to defend and hold us harmless from, claims arising from the recordings you make or share, or from your breach of these Terms or of anyone else’s rights.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using ScreenFace at any time by deleting it from your device. Your licence ends automatically if you breach these Terms. Sections 3, 5 and 8–12 continue to apply after that.

12. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about ScreenFace.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date above. Continuing to use ScreenFace after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
